RSL vs Seattle Sounders

yesterday luke & i had the awesome chance to go see Real Salt Lake play the Seattle Sounders in the playoffs. It was a pretty intense game for Luke because he really wanted RSL to win...It was intense for me because I'm a closet Sounders fan, & didn't want him to know. :)
I decided they would be my favorite team in the MLS after we went to seattle to see them play chelsea
over the summer. when I made that decision I had NO IDEA that they were RSL's biggest rivals..so...yeah.
passing around the RSL flag.
It was a very frustrating game, even for me who doesn't know what's going on half the time. I decided the biggest thing I hate about professional soccer is what a bunch of babies they are...perhaps you real soccer fans agree or disagree? Every little push that was made resulted in the player dramatically falling to the ground, throwing their arms up in the air, screaming at the refs, & faking injuries. They basically mooched the clock to get extra time, whined & cried over every little elbow, & tried to get as many fouls against the other team as possible.
I guess it's all part of the game but seriously.... it was annoying. Other than that I had a superb time...especially after the Sounders WON, 1-0!!!!
Happy Friday everyone!

election night 2012.

this time four years ago i couldn't even imagine where i would be on election day.
four years ago barack obama's acceptance speech brought tears to my eyes as i rocked the twins i was nannying to sleep. i felt so hopeful for the future, & my future.

what do you know, four years later & i have had a pretty successful time during obama in office. now i know most of you have mixed opinions about tuesday's election...but can i just say obama made me cry AGAIN? what a powerful public speaker he is. i didn't even vote for him but i was moved (& relieved romney didn't win. seriously, guys.)
anyways, so this election i worked a 12 hour day...doing basically what you see above. my co-worker bailey & i split up the 50 states & used an online tool to track how many votes were counted for each candidate.
she got the top half & i got the bottom half. which means every time i'd get to ohio, i'd cry out "ROMNEY'S AHEAD!" "OK NOW OBAMA'S AHEAD!" "AH CRAP ROMNEY'S AHEAD AGAIN!" it was so intense! i couldn't believe how close the votes came. but in the end, it didn't matter...obama won the popular vote & the electoral college. it was a close race though, & a night i will never forget! i love my job!
here's basically what i looked at for 12 hours.
luckily bailey brought bacon maple cupcakes...yes you read that right. they were delicious..they had chunks of bacon in them!
also, i wore pink tights. i think that needs to be noted as well that sometimes i am girly.
here we are, in action.

i can't wait to see where i am 4 years from now!

cruisin'.

good news for me....happy dance happy dance!
i just signed up for my LAST SEMESTER OF COLLEGE!
seriously though...i am so close to being done. & that means it's time to start planning my congrats to myself present!
luke & i are hoping to go on a cruise in may (depending on when sweeps are at my work, since you can't request vacation during that time) to celebrate me finally being done with 6 years of classes, homework, tests & headaches.
it's been a long time coming, & quite the wild ride, as i'm sure most of you will agree.
i am so happy to almost be done & close that chapter of my life...i'm sure you all are too hehe. going on this cruise AND graduating are crossing off two huge things on my bucket list, & i'm so excited!
before i grow up & continue my job, all while looking for opportunities elsewhere, we are hoping to hit up a cruise out of GALVESTON, TEXAS, so we can see my brothers & their families before we go.

anyone have any travel tips or tips on what kind of cruises you prefer? any suggestions on what places to visit, & why?
all suggestions are much appreciated. we can't wait for this! especially me, since it means i'll finally be graduated!
(well almost..i'll walk in the spring, & do my senior seminar over the summer. but still! it counts!)
