the highlight of my weekend was helping host & coordinate a benefit concert for the TEARS foundation. TEARS is a 401k nonprofit that assists families who lose children under age 1. it covers funeral expenses & other costs for those grieving families.
one of my friends in ogden, mikki, lost her baby girl paikea in 2006 when she was 9 days old. this benefit concert meant a lot to her & my other friend kristin, who lost her niece last october.
we had such a great turnout & raised over $500 in addition to everything else we've raised since january. (over 2 grand!) i'm so excited to be a part of something so great. there were several raffle prizes, live music, & even a drink at the bar we had the concert at that is named the "indie ogden."
