DIY - a magnet board!

I've been feeling especially crafty lately, probably due to it being a good distraction from homework.. I hate homework.
Here is what I recently made:
This awesome magnet board is one of the simplest DIYs I've done. Check out the step-by-step directions here! Also, while you're there, check out my review of local band The North Valley.

Valentine's Day DIY - Glitter Jars

Valentine's Day is almost among us! If you've been reading my posts over at Indie Ogden, you prob know I'm currently writing a 5-part series on the holiday. Here's the DIY I did along with that... it's super cute! It makes for a fun craft, esp for the kiddies, as well as you can fill it with candy to give to their friends. A very cute idea!
GLITTER JARS
YOU WILL NEED:
-Mod Podge or glue
-Mason Jars
-Paintbrushes
-Glitter
1. Using the glue & a paintbrush, draw a shape on the inside of the jar. Of course I did a heart for Valentine's, but stripes and polka dots are other cute ideas.
2. Quickly pour one color of glitter into the jar & shake it around so that it covers the whole glued area.
3. Pour more glitter in to make sure the entire glued area is covered.
4. Then tap the top of the jar on the ground to remove the excess glitter.
5. Let dry COMPLETELY before you proceed.

6. Next, use the glue & paintbrush to cover the entire inside of the jar with glue. Make sure it's nice & thick (it will dry clear!)
7. Pour the second color of glitter inside the jar, cover with a lid, & shake shake shake. Make sure you cover the whole surface.
8. Again, let dry.

Aren't they snazzy?? I think I'm going to fill them with candy & give to my nephew & two nieces. :)

Indie Ogden DIY - Spray painted wine bottles

I wrote a super rad DIY on what to do with old wine bottles (or any glass bottle, really) over at Indie Ogden today. Be sure to go check it out, and if you're feeling crafty, give it a try!
Also, I have the awesome opportunity to write a 5-part series on VALENTINE'S DAY! So if you're stressing about what to get your significant other, or perhaps where in the world to go for the holiday, never fear! I'll be answering some of the most stressful V-Day questions over on the Indie Ogden blog. Hope you'll check it out.

SIDE NOTE: I'm interested in finding a few guest bloggers. My blog gets over 200+ views a day so if you are a college student, writer, photographer, or anything similar that wants to reach an audience, I'm your gal.
I'm also looking to guest blog for other people. Please email me at laur.gardner@hotmail.com for info & questions.

i am brave!

I wore lipstick today.
Those who know me well, know that I am NOT the lipstick-y type.
But today I decided to be brave. One of my newest New Year's Resolutions (I've already kinda given up on the whole running thing) is to be more girly. So that when I go places in public with Luke, people don't think I'm his little brother. Hahaha just kidding...but not really.
i also began a very fun VALENTINE'S DAY DIY for Indie Ogden. It's not finished yet but it's gonna be great y'all!

sometimes i'm domestic.

here's my newest "craft" of sorts. i wanted to find a way to show off some of my favorite polaroids without just sticking them up on the wall or something.
i bought a wooden frame & wire, (all of like five dollars) & used clothespins to pin up some of my faves. the best part is i can interchange them with my other polaroids if i want to.
the first one is of my sister & i with santa when we were little...& dressed super stylish, might i add. i also have one of a friend of mine & i in logan, my nephew, & the view of a sunflower field in logan.
love polaroids.
