july has lots of good birthdays.

as of today i am ON VACATION.... officially on my way to seattle for a few days.
so excited to eat lots of sea food, try lots of local brew, stay in an old hotel & spend lots of time with my favorite boy.
however i wanted to give a shout out to three of my family members whom i happen to absolutely adore!! they all share july for their birthday month; first my papa on july 15.. rachel turns 15 (!) TODAY!!!, and my "cutest oldest" nephew turns 6 on july 27th. i bought him a pretty AWESOME birthday present. so sad i have to mail it all the way to texas. happy birthday you three!

the roaring twenties.

luke & i went to a halloween/birthday party for my good friend scott last weekend. it was so much fun!! luke threw his costume together in minutes (i've had mine for over a year) & we went as a roaring twenties couple. it was SUCH a blast!
the birthday boy! love this kid.
my good friend spencer, who not only makes me laugh until i look asian, but also dressed up as a community college professor.
so funny!!!
hope everyone's weekend was fantastic! i'm back at my house in ogden...more on the fun at my parent's house soon.

current obsessions.

band: the acorn
album: glory hope mountain
check out: their song "hold your breath"
reminds me of: the shins, ben kweller-esque awesomeness.

band: beirut
album: the flying club cup
reminds me of: grizzly bear, sufjan stevens, iron & wine

band: neon indian
album: psychic chasms
check out: their song deadbeat summer. it is FABULOUS.
reminds me of: a cooler version of MGMT.

the past week has been a good one.

last weekend hannah, emily and i were invited to a masquerade party by our friend ryan.
it sounded like a blast, so we spent the entire evening getting ready for it. it turns out the location of the party got moved, and we ended up at a totally different party..and not many people wearing masks.
shoot.
it ended up working out nicely because there was a live band playing and a lot of our friends were at this party. so we just went rocked out like masqueraders.

we also went to a native american pow wow in logan this past week. everyone was dressed up, dancing, and singing. oh, and selling cool stuff:
i wanted this SO badly.

hannah bought us cool matching bracelets :]

we also celebrated adam's 23rd birthday yesterday.
he is getting fairly old.
however, we still threw him a fantastic party. i had emily and hannah take adam out while ryan and i stayed to throw some things together at my house. some of our friends came and we turned off the lights and hid our cars..the whole shabang!
adam came home totally confused...he flipped on a light and we all yelled SURPRISE! [that's always the best part.]
adam was totally fooled. i'm surprised i managed to successfully throw together a surprise party.
it totally rocked.

this is us on our second road trip of the week..to find adam the perfect birthday present [which we did].
trying to get adam to take a birthday picture..and failing.

happy birthday dude!
