I found out today that I am going to have another NEPHEW in April! So stoked to have another little boy in the family! We need more of them. :)

this paper has been consuming my life ALL semester...it had to be 12 pages long, which usually wouldn't be hard, except it required probably about 200 hours of research. i've never worked so hard on a paper in my life!

and it's DONE. turned it in yesterday & was so glad to be rid of it!

just one 30-page paper left & 3 finals until i'm free for the rest of 2011!

i love long weekends. especially when my birthday is in that same weekend.

spent thanksgiving/my birthday with luke's family. they are the best! they got me a delicious cupcake & let me hang out at their house all day. it was a blast!

he also made me breakfast in bed & is going to buy me a simon & garfunkel record...which i'm so excited about. needless to say he spoiled me rotten & it was one of the best birthdays ever! how was your holiday?

this is luke & his best friend amy. she is awesome! her grandma is one of the most adorable people in the world, and she was in daughters of utah pioneers with my grandma! amazing.

our first morning there. we drank mimosas and watched football. it was so relaxing!

also like i said before, none of us really knew each other prior to this trip. but everyone was so much fun!

our condo also had a hot tub...EPIC. i got in it 2-3 times per day. here we are with bryce & lindsey on our last night there. (ps i love how pasty i am compared to everyone else. embarrassing.)

the second day there me, amy & leslie went into town to buy milk & ended up walking around the cute little city.

MOAB, part one.

so last weekend luke & i went to moab with a bunch of random people. his best friend amy invited a few of her closest friends to her timeshare down there...we all knew amy but none of us knew each other. the other couples there were in their 30's, so i was kinda nervous that i'd be a little too immature for them..ha ha!

but turns out it was the best vacation ever. amy got such a great group of people to go...we all got along immediately & had such a fun weekend!! here are a few of my favorite photos:

this weekend was ESPECIALLY awesome because my best friend emily got engaged!!! she's getting married in a year & asked me to be her maid of honor, something i could not be more stoked about! i can't wait for wedding planning, bridal showers, bachelorette parties...the whole shabang!

11/11/11!!

I'm really feeling like a little Jonsi or Lykke Li today. Happy music is always my favorite.. Jonsi is amazing at making happy music (& sad music too, seeing how Sigur Ros is the most depressing & beautiful music ever), and Lykke Li has become my recent girl crush...she's so talented!!

Give these guys a listen, & just try not to hum along...see how far you make it.

this makes laugh...so. hard.

 

now, I guess I could say I knew Rick Perry wouldn't last long. but this guy was leading the GOP polls a few weeks ago...this was who the republicans thought was capable of running our country.

last night was easily the most entertaining debate I've ever seen!!!! so hilarious. & I must say that while I'm still definitely a democrat, if Mitt Romney were to win the GOP spot it'd be one tough choice on who to vote for. Romney is a smart guy. (Unlike this guy here.)

this tops my most embarrassing moments.

so yesterday at work i reached an all time high of embarrassing moments (including when i passed out in the 5th grade and peed my pants.) it was a normal day at fox 13 studios, and I was AP for the 5 PM newscast. At 5:55, I was gathering all my things and somehow...I don't even know what happened, or if it was my fault, or HOW it happened...I get KONKED in the head with something....and all of a sudden everything goes white and smoky.
Of course, I froze. And I'm in a tiny room with the other producer, director, and graphics people and everyone is screaming, "FIRE!!!!"
So eventually after I stop being frozen (I tend to do that) I hear, "Open the door!" So naturally, since I'm closest to the door, I open it, and my director Dan comes running out of the room with a fire extinguisher that is just exploding. I'm not even kidding, I've never seen anything like it in my life.
So since we were in news control (a smaller room separate from the actual newsroom,) everyone in the newsroom starts freaking out. Bob yells, "There's a fire!" And everyone starts freaking out. Finally, our News Director Renai herds us all into another room and Dan runs the fire extinguisher outside to finish going off.
The best part is that we were supposed to come back after a commercial break, and we had to call Master Control and tell them to just run more commercials. So we even had to end the newscast early.
FAIL!!!!!!
And these are the results of my absolute clumsiness:

yeah... it's still not to the point where I can laugh about this yet, even though everyone else in the studio thought it was rather hilarious.

Maybe it will seem less embarrassing tomorrow...

oh the stress...

well there's less than a month left of this semester, and it cannot come soon enough!!! school always gets super crazy this time of year. here's to hoping i can barrel through & get done already.
the weekend, as you can see from the pics i posted yesterday, was still lovely.  even with a power outage! luke & i lit a fire in my fireplace & played cards for a few hours (bundled head to toe in our warmest clothes.) needless to say, 19 hours without power was an unanticipated highlight of the weekend. love that boy.
i also celebrated my dear mama bear's birthday,  played with the  niece & nephew, did a lot of studying & a lot of working. 
now off to study for my test on friday. wish me luck!
