black swan.

a couple days ago i got to go see the movie black swan. it comes out in about two weeks, however the salt lake city film society held an early showing for press and other lucky people such as myself. it was free too! 

i went with my friends aaron, patton, odin, garrick, zach, and patton's cousin and aunt. the movie was INCREDIBLE!! it's dark, beautiful, and terrifying all in one. it follows the story of a disturbed ballerina in her quest to be perfect...and i felt like it very accurately showed the stress of what it's like to be a dancer. thank heaven's i never got that into ballet, but i do remember how stressful it all was and how hard it was to not get the part you wanted.

this movie is intense, dramatic, and hooks you from the beginning. i absolutely loved it and plan on seeing it again when it comes to theaters!!! i highly recommend it.

the best part about this lovely outing was that you have to show up early to get tickets, so patton, aaron and i got to spend the whole day wandering around downtown. a few stops on our adventure included:

a trip to sam weller's bookstore. a two-level bookstore filled with any literature you could ever want/imagine. and some you probably would never want. haha.

played a game of giant chess at the nostalgia cafe downtown.

more wandering the streets.

i actually took this one on accident! which i think is actually kind of cool.

all in all it was a lovely, random tuesday with a lot of my favorite people.
