Stokes Nature Center

Today my group got in-depth with our midterm assignment. We're working with Stokes Nature Center to get them some publicity as well as help them plan ahead for their new center next summer. We met with Adria, the Program Coordinator today and she gave us some pretty good background info on the place. What they seem to be struggling with the most is getting people out there to the nature center. A lot of people don't even know where it is.
As a group, we came out with a few goals for the project:
1. Increase awareness of the center, where it's located, & what is offered
2. Target 3 audiences: families, college students, & Scouts. Survey them to see what they would like to see happen in the nature center.
3. Establish a program at the University; that way people can come out to the activities & are more likely to drive out to the nature center after they realize what it has to offer.

My job is to focus on the families of Cache County. At first I was a little unsure of how to go about doing this, but I've begun the process by emailing a woman at Logan City. I asked her if there was a way I could put a survey up ont he Logan City website or elsewhere where families of Cache County will see it. I've also contacted a few bishops in the community about getting in touch with the LDS community.
I've come up with a survey of questions for families to fill out:
1. Do you know where Stokes Nature Center is located?
2. How often do you visit the Center?
3. What interests you most about the outdoors?
4. What would you like your kids to be involved in & learn about concerning the outdoors?
5. What programs would you like SNC to offer in the future?
6. Other thoughts/comments

Adria said the overall goal for the center was community awareness. If the community is more aware of the center and it's programs, the center is going to thrive.
